RUGS' Group
RUGS' Group
The RUGS is the name for our MAT Student Council. It stands for ‘Really Useful Generation Students’ Group. Its membership is usually two boys and two girls from each setting within the Trust elected by their student community. Their term of office is usually 2 years. Members of the RUGS are also ambassadors for the Trust. The Group meets at least once every term and is supported by our Deputy Head Teachers’ Group. They have been instrumental in designing the Trust Activity Days for specific Year Groups and are also working on a fund-raising project to support local charities. The RUGS also act as roving reporters for the Trust reporting on all the Trust enrichment activities taking place each year, including our Shakespeare Festival, Activity Days to Inspire and Be Inspired, sporting events and much more.
Their mission statement is:
“To inspire development strategies for learning for every child in the MAT!”
